Key note speaker, Trevor Phillips OBE, was announced as chair oft he new Equality and Human Rights Commission (CEHR) on 8 September 2006. The Commission inherited the work of the previous equality commissions on disability, gender and race in October 2007. The Commission also has responsibility for the new areas of age, religion and belief, sexual orientation and the promotion of human rights.
Following the keynote address Annette Williams, Director of the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology will address specific areas of diversity in Engineering. In addition there will also be a number of case studies from companies such as Shell, National Grid, Du Pont and British Gas as well as a panel discussion
