Monday morning blockage

Woke up today nice and early as you do was ready to kick start my week on fire, but my mind drew a blank, it felt blocked all day. (it can only be down to Monday morning blockage). Struggling to stay focus and multitask, I have not had the chance to get some quiet time to clear my head and re-focus, so productivity not as effective today.

You’ll notice some information at the top of Urban Blogger, this is information sent to my inbox which I feel you may find useful, if you also happen to have useful information feel free to send to me.

Have installed a stats program on the backend called… yes you’ve guessed it…. stats This will enable to see which topics, subjects, articles are most popular and may even help decide which direction to take. Still got to sort out the default image next to the posts, also sort out the Album sections, once done they’ll be some final little features to add like a subscription form, social bookmarking links and stuff and then we’ll be ready to roll.

Obviously we need to ensure we get some good traffic so I will need to sit down and do some keyword brainstorming, produce some high quality content, hit some directories, post to some news sites, link up with a few of my blogging friends, mailout to my multiple email lists and see what comes.

The funny thing is even though the internet is a level playing field, the money that is pumped into ventures makes it hard for smaller guys to build a successful website, however, with a bit of smart thinking, a bit of patients, anyone can make it on the net. This is the reason, urban blogger is unfolding before your very eyes, could have sat down and spent ages planning, preparing, then go live and be dissapointed when there’s no visitors, I feel if we share the experience, then we can all learn from one another, you’ll be kept informed of all progress (even when times are tough).

Got another project on the go called CROSSCULtURES. It’s an email list hosting service, where you can easily manage, personalise, schedule your email database. The statistics backend is absolutely fantastic and you can really see what’s going on with your members, it’s important to understand your members, what they like, what they don’t like, when they are more responsive etc. It’s like a juggling act, but I love it!
