Learnt a good lesson over the weekend. You’re are only as good as the tools you have to work with and when you don’t have the right tools, you have to really use your head to fix the problem.

Wasted a whole saturday trying to repair a customers computer, a job which should have taken no more than 1 hour took nearly 12 hours all because I left my tools in Birmingham. I was trying to install Win XP but did not have the disk, I had another disk but that was on DVD, the computer it was to be install did not have a DVD installed,went to computer fair and bought a £5 DVD player, got home and the player worked but would not read the DVD so went back to fair but it was closed. Cut a long story short, in the end, I had to go deep into the garage, repair my old server which had an image backup of Windows XP and then burn to CD.

All in all though a good weekend, went to a birthday party and then afterwards went to a Soul night in Blackburn, got in at 5am, was back up by 10am and then had to shoot down to London, was going to go by train but after doing some calculations it worked out cheaper to drive, so ended up driving, sorted out a network problem for our tenants, then drove back up to Manchester, bit gutted not having a chance to do anything on the site this weekend and one thing i know for sure is if you stop doing something it can be hard getting back in the swing of things.
